Bio

Filip Górski, DSc., PhD., BEng., works as an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Poznań University of Technology. He is the leader of a team dealing with the development of innovative solutions in the field of virtual reality (VR), computer-aided design (CAD) and 3D printing. In 2013, he defended his doctoral thesis in the field of numerical simulation and experimental research of products manufactured additively on 3D printers, in 2020 he obtained his habilitation degree in the use of virtual reality techniques in mechanical engineering. He specializes in 3D scanning and printing technologies in medicine and biomedical engineering, virtual and augmented reality in industrial and medical applications, CAD / CAM / CAE systems and reverse engineering techniques. He is the author or co-author of nearly 100 publications, including 4 books. He is also the author of several software solutions implemented in industrial companies. He participated in many research projects, also as a manager, including research and development projects carried out in cooperation with industrial companies and other national research centers. He also has international scientific cooperation, including with universities from Great Britain, Mexico, Czech Republic and Ukraine. He has appeared at nearly 40 scientific conferences in Poland and abroad. He is a laureate of the prestigious LIDER grant (National Center for Research and Development), as well as many other awards for scientific and teaching activities. He promoted over 60 engineering and master's theses related to the subject of 3D printing, virtual reality and 3D scanning, several of which have been awarded in national and local competitions. He has participated in the organizing and program committee of several renowned conferences, and is also working with MDPI as editor of a special issue of the Materials magazine. Author of numerous reviews, expert opinions and opinions commissioned by the industry.

Professional interests

I mainly deal with the broadly understood 3D technology, in the mechanical and production engineering, as well as in medicine. I create VR applications, work in CAD systems, I am also a specialist in the field of additive manufacturing technology (3D printing).

3D printing in medicine

Individualized orthoses and prostheses. Preoperative and intraoperative aids. Educational models. Rehabilitation devices.

Virtual reality in industry

Training specialists in virtual reality. Variant product design systems (3D configurators). Visualization of existing technical objects (digital twins). Virtual, augmented and mixed reality in manufacturing.

Reverse engineering and CAD

3D optical and laser scanning, photogrammetry. Data processing and 3D modeling, mainly in medical applications. Automation of the design of medical devices.
